Childhood

We come to life perfect in our creation - needy by nature. Food shelter, clothing, healthcare, emotional nurturance and safety are our birthright. In our innocence, we wait at life's door for the adults in our world to protect and provide for our wel-being. The emergence of the self, or "the wonder child" is enhanced in the years of childhood through love and care.

Anger and Fear

Two powerful emotions — anger and fear, are associated with the mismanagement of the stress response. Stressful situations can include feelings of anger or fear, but most often both are seen. These flight or fight emotions usually coexist. Anger produces the urge to fight; fear promotes the urge to flee. In human interactions, most individuals are ill equipped to skilfully sustain inner and outer tranquility in the face of stress. The many shades of these overlapping stress emotions can be overwhelming.
